Indonesia

Indonesia is a densely populated archipelago located off mainland Southeast Asia. The national motto, “Unity in diversity,” gives language to the extraordinary ethnic makeup of the islands with over 300 ethnic groups and more than 600 languages.

In recent years, persecution has increased significantly in the nation. Terrorist cells are continuing to sprout up. Yet, amid trial, the church of Indonesia has an opportunity to stand firm and share the love of God that cannot be measured and the Gospel that cannot be silenced. Bandung is the capital of West Java.

The Sunda people predominantly inhabit the metropolitan area. The Sunda have a stronger devotion to Islam than their Javanese cousins and form Indonesia’s largest unreached people group.
